THEOLOGY AND SCIENCE COURSES

We are interested in offering secondary courses in theology, physical science (e.g., chemistry and physics), and mathematics from a classical Christian perspective to a group of highly motivated homeschoolers (ages 12-18).

Two theology tracks are proposed - Worldviews and Apologetics (each one semester), and Christian Faith and Christian Life (also each one semester) - as well as a variety of the usual science and math courses.

With sufficient interest, courses would begin in the fall of 2010. Classes would meet once a week in Castle Rock, tentatively at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church on a Monday or Tuesday. Other details are yet to be determined, in large part by those who would participate. Critical mass for this venture is six students in a theology ...

RMBO offers outdoor education opportunities for homeschoolers

Outdoor experiences are a critical part of any child’s education, and the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory (RMBO) has designed a series of educational programs specifically for students who are homeschooled.

Located at the northern tip of Barr Lake State Park, just 30 miles east of downtown Denver on Interstate 76, the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory is a perfect place for children to explore the outdoors, learn about birds and their habitats, and have experiences in the arts and literature as well. RMBO’s programs for 2010 each provide a full morning of activities at a cost of just $5 per child. Parents are welcome to attend the programs with their child, or students can be dropped off at RMBO’s headquarters, a 110-...

Horizon Bible College Denver Classes for High Schoolers

Category: Enrichment Classes Date Posted: Saturday, January 9, 2010 By: Ronnie McKay

Horizon Bible College Denver (HCD) has recently been organized as a branch of the accredited Horizon College San Diego (HCSD).

The mission of HCD is faithfully to equip students to carry out their Lord’s great commission by making disciples and teaching them obedience to their Master’s commands (Matt 28:19-20).

Many Christians who want a more thorough knowledge of Scripture or are called to vocational Christian ministry, feel constrained by the enormous costs and subsequent school loans in other schools. The costs at Horizon College Denver are minimal due to the use of area churches facilities and adjunct faculty members.

Each teacher has at least a Masters degree and currently serves as a pastor. The faculty is committed to both the rigors of academic study and the ur...

PE Plus

The focus of PE+PLUS is for students to learn to enjoy and participate in sports and physical activities with a proper, godly perspective, as well as to live life in a full and Christ-like way.

We will usually warm up to begin each class and many times get an aerobic workout through the activities of the day. Cardiovascular fitness, muscle conditioning, and goal setting will be modeled and taught.

This program is designed with age appropriate classes for pre-K through 12th grade. It is based in the South Denver Metro area and in Colorado Springs.

Coming from over 25 years in education the Kemps have enjoyed all the wonderful families in the home school world. Family involvement seems to be a key. Dave and Debbie have two children, David and Ethan, both who help in the family's hom...
