When: Sunday, April 10th
Where: Smoky Hill Library
What: Civil War Living History display and demonstrations.

The Arapahoe Library District is presenting a Civil War Living History Day at Smoky Hill Library on Sunday, April 10th.

Come one, come all, and enjoy a pleasant Sunday afternoon from 11am to 4pm (or later) by stepping back in time for some hands-on history and the sights, sounds (and smells) of camp, drill, and black gunpowder!

The Arapahoe Library District has joined with the Castle Rock Civil War Unit in presenting this event for all their patrons county-wide. This is a “BIG DEAL” for all of us since it will occur two days before the 150th Anniversary of the firing on Ft. Sumter which started the Civil War.

There will be blank-firing of muskets and cannons on the grounds, as soldier's tents, and horses for the Cavalry display.

The agenda for the event is as follows, for each hour:

~General living history & music display and Q&A with the public – 30 min.
~Infantry demonstration – 10 min
~Cavalry demonstration – 10 min
~Artillery demonstration – 10 min
